Not long after I became a demonstrator for Stampin' Up!the world of color began to change for me. I no longer see red, blue and green. Instead, I see in SU! colors....is it Real Red or Rose Red? Ballet Blue or Brocade? Always Artichoke or Old Olive? I've also begun to look at ordinary items in new ways. The other day, while I was getting Sophia ready for the day, I found my thoughts analyzing the colors in her shirt.....Rose Red, Almost Amythest, Pumpkin Pie, True Thyme...and those flowers...Doodle This (see samples of this great new SU! stamp set in the SCS gallery)! And so, even though I'm up to my ears with projects, I took a few minutes yesterday afternoon to see where the muses would take me.
I've been wanting to try a "long" card for awhile and thought these stolen moments would be a great time to kill two birds with one ink pad! It was great fun to just let the card evolve and I really like how it turned out--nothing like my original plan, but that's okay. Stamp sets used: Doodle This, A Light Heart (retired), Filigree Background (retired) and Doodle That. Images were stamped on watercolor paper and colored using SU! Classic Inks and an aqua brush. Accessories used: SU! Tab punch, 3/4" circle punch and True Thyme ribbon.
I often see creative possibilities in the girls' clothes. Also in the Sunday paper--especially the Target and Pier One advertisements--love all that colorful stuff! Where do you find your inspiration? Inquiring minds want to know....
I love your blog Miss Jane! I miss you so much! Congratulations on the new little man!
Love ya girlie!

It's so true. I'm wearing my husband's Summer Sun sweatshirt even as I type. I did a card for my class yesterday using the shirt I wore on Sunday...Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive! Thanks for sharing!
