Lovely Geisha

Howdieeeeee!!

I'm so excited today about the brand new stamp sheet from I Brake For Stamps!  Not normally the type of image I would gravitate to, this stamp sheet has me completely enthralled!!

This image is called Lovely Geisha.  In addition, I've used the Large Mum to accent the melon colored mat behind the main image.  Just one of the many reasons I love my stamps in sets!!

I Brake For Old Guys......

Once again, the 3D and Fancy Folds CD has saved the day!!  Using the Side Step Card tutorial from the CD (with a few dimensional changes), I created this fun card!  This card is sized to fill a standard A2 envelope.  One of the things about being a Junkie that I just love is the flexibility I've been given as a stamper!  I was able to tweek a few measurements and readjust to a card size that could accomodate my image :)

Try That....Acrylic Block Taping, June 2012

Hello Stampy Friends!!! 

I've just returned from a fantastic trip to West Springfield, MA!  While there, I had the priviledge of meeting many Junkies--new and old....what a joy!!  The long weekend was a fun filled adventure full of hard work, lots of laughs and all things stampy!    Half way through the trade show, I developed an almost irresistable urge to get inky....so, I did!

I am loving the June/July 2012 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter!!  Today, I have a project for the Try That Challenge using a technique from the June issue called Acrylic Block Taping.

I can honestly say I gasped out loud when I first saw the tutorial for this technique!  While it is a simple technique (we all love those--right?), I find it creatively brilliant!! 

My adorable Raggedy Ann image is from Impression Obsession (a new TJ vendor!) and the sentiment is from Unity Stamps Co.

I Brake For Bada Bing.....

LOL!  I actually had to Google "what does bada bing mean?"  The general consensus is "there it is" or "something that happens quickly with little effort"--HA!  Who knew?  I did know that this funny little g'ma and that saying worked perfectly together.....

Just part of why I love Google---oh, how did we exist before it?  But, I digress....

Sorry!  I made this cutie card using one of I Brake For Stamps' Humorous Seniors stamps.  This month, at I Brake For Challenges, we are focus on all things fun for summer!  Check out the challenge post here!

The primary technique for this card is called Reinker Watercolor.  I used it to create the colorful background.  You will find this technique in the February/March 2012 edition of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  It's a fun one, for sure!

After coloring the image with Copic markers, I used the Copic Texturizing technique to add interest and texture to g'ma's jeans.  You'll find the Copic Texturizing technique in the April/May 2011 edition.
