Glory Bee!! It's still Monday and here I am! I'm lovin' my little bee card for the Technostamper Monday Sketch challenge. This card is a cornocopia of techniques and glittery goodness!
The background piece is done using the glitter resist technique and is REALLY sparkely in real life. The swirly stamp is a bit of bounty from my recent trip to the Whippersnapper factory. The honeycomb stamp (used for the glitter resist part) is from Darcie's. The bee (also from Whippersnapper) belongs to a friend (hi! Kari!!) who is probably wondering if I ever plan to return it. LOL!!!! While I've thought about continuing to hold it hostage (it bee-ing so cute and all....LOL!) I'll probably (?) give it back soon since I value her friendship!
The image piece uses both paper piecing and the Out of the Box techniques. The bee's body has been stamped twice, cut out and popped up for extra dimension. It's impossible to see on the scan, but it totally makes the card in person. I used my colluzle for the Out of the Box technique--I must say that I am bummed about the discontinuation of this tool--it is perfect for this technique. While there are lots of amazing cutting systems out there, the coluzzle will still be a favorite.....until my stash of blades is depleted....then....not so much.
After coloring the image with Copics, I super spica-ed the bee, his wings and the flag with a variety of Copic atyou Spica pens. It is sooo shiney!
I've been busy busy busy today....LOL...just like a little bee! It's my hubba's birthday. We've had a frenzy of activity this am with last minute shopping for dinner ingredients (I've NEVER made ribs before....) gift wrapping, and card making.
I've been itching for a reason to ink up my little Denami monkies and today was the perfect day!
Super simple, super cute...one for each of our little monkies...he'll like :)
That's all for me--
TTFN, Jane
